The Challenge:

Israel is rich in sunlight but limited in space.
In order to meet the government goal of 30% electricity production from renewable energies by 2030, but reduce exploitation of land reserves for solar energy to a minimum, the need for dual use of land for solar electricity production arises.

From this emerges the need to establish Agri-PV projects: combining agriculture and solar photovoltaic technologies on the same plot of land in novel configurations to mitigate conflicts between solar and agricultural activities and provide mutual benefits and added value to each sector.
Agri-PV has several challenges related to electricity production and minimizing the impact on agricultural activity.

We are looking for startups and cutting-edge technologies
that will take Agri-PV activity to the next level.

Focus areas:

Production (PV modules)

A photovoltaic system adapted to utilize solar irradiance in conjunction with the plant (smart trackers, panels adapted to an Agri-PV environment)

Construction

a panel-bearing construction adapted to agricultural activity and machinery

Adapted agricultural mechanization

Agritech products that are leveraged to work under a built construction

Smart management systems

Platforms for optimizing agricultural growth, electricity production, etc

Why apply to the challenge?

  • Opportunity for an investment to scale your company
  • Partner with a renewable energy world leader
  • Professional consulting and mentoring from our world-class experts
  • Potential access to EDF Renewables sites for fast “Build Measure Learn” cycles
